Walking distance to Gull Lake. Good price for the Amenities (Full living room, kitchen, etc). Pet friendly. Given the staff a fair rating because I didn't see them once. Not at check-in or check-out. Keys were in an envelope on a board when I arrived. Left the keys on the desk when I left. I'm mixed on this. I liked that it was hassle-free, but welcoming your patrons is a plus no matter how slow the season is.
Lack of a good hot shower. They have the max heat capped or something. Antiquated heater clanks and pops all night. Door security severely lacking. Smell of gas leaking from the stove. I had to shut the valve behind the stove to prevent it. Power outlets from the late 1940's - All 2 prong except 1 in the kitchen.

The location is great and they are dog-friendly, which was very important for us. The bathroom was great and the bed was very comfortable.
The living room furniture, futon couch and chair, were very uncomfortable for my husband and I; hard to get out of because they were so low.

Location to Gull Lake
The cabin we stayed in was supposedly non smoking, but when walking in the door it was obvious most people smoked when they stayed. The kitchen facilities were poor and not well kept. Lighting in living room did not work.

It was very close to beautiful Gull Lake. The rooms are large, and the bedroom is away from the parking lot, so it was very quiet. The rooms are large, and the the kitchen area was very convenient for us. The rooms seemed to be freshly painted, and the bathroom had new tile on the floor and around the shower. Lots of extra towels were provided in the bathroom. Very nice. The kitchen had a new refrigerator. The king bed was very comfortable, but the couch and chair in the living area were a bit uncomfortable and difficult to get out of. After the first day, we sort of got used to everything, and started to appreciate the size of the rooms, and the comfort of the bed. I would definitely return to this hotel, and would give it even higher marks if there were more lamps and lights in the bedroom and in the living area.
Heater in the bathroom didn't work. Could use more end tables in the living area, and needs another bedside lamp in the bedroom. We had a problem with flies getting into the room, and had to swat at least 8 or 10 of them during the first day there. After that, the problem went away. Flies probably came in when cleaning people left a door open. Tv is old and needs upgrading to flat screen.

The scenery, and the close proximity to Gull Lake. We also liked the unit that we rented. It was very comfortable and spacious. We are planning on returning again next year, and will stay longer next time.

Location near Gull Lake and comfortable mood.
If staying upstairs, then have to walk gently since the floors squeak down below!

Rooms are much nicer than the appearance from outside. Kitchen, bathroom and bedroom has size and comfortable.
Could not light BBQ's and office closed to get a lighter. Frying pan was very flimsly and could not conduct uniform heat to fry fish. Both of these lead to a failure of cooking the fish we caught.

Recently renovated bathroom and new towels
Everything else was poor . Old shabby furniture. Uncomfortable seating. Terrible pillows. Beds not made up once in our 3 night stay. Ancient gas stove and hot air heater.
